Those of you that know me, or even follow me here on ZombieDinosaurs or twitter will know that I like to live in a little world that isn’t really our own. You’ll all know that I like to immerse myself in a world of TV and Movies. For that short period of time being a couple of hours for a film or the length of a TV series I become fully involved and forget everything else around me to a massive extent.
Yet again today I managed to watch another film that quite an effect on me. I know full well it’s mostly a kids film and a comedy but I don’t think I have ever seen a film that hasn’t had some sort of impact to me on a personal level, it’s really quite something. I watched Night at the Museum 2 tonight and took away from it a couple of quotes that really struck me.
“If you’re not excited by it, why do it.” Amelia Earhart with reference to Larrys career choices.
“The key to happiness is – doing what you love, with people you love.” Larry to Teddy Roosevelt at the end.
I don’t really know but these two quotes hit me quite hard. I think its because every day I move closer to my future as an Archaeologist (I hope) and that excites me amazingly. It’s something I’ve always dreamed of and just cannot see myself settling on anything but. The other was important because it really is the key, nothing else matters provided you can do the stuff you love doing with the people you love. What else could you need?
Am I the only the person who watches films so carefully and get so involved that it effects me so much or is this a normal way to be?
