After a busy few months I managed to find a bit of time to have a look over BELa and start making plans for how to proceed. Given the amount of rust and MOT advises based around corrosion, I decided the best place to start would be with the body work as if its too far gone it could stall the entire project.

Its that time of year again, the MOT is due. Obviously with that comes a bunch of pre-checks and a vauge sense of worry. This entire weekend was consumed by such checks and few last minute alterations and changes.

Stop that car!

Nasty grinding noises have led to an upgrade with more financial gains than technical ones. Recently all of a sudden the brakes on the 2000 started grinding badly. A quick inspection through the spoke told of a badly scored disk on one side and a badly pitted disk on the other. The pitting was no surprise but the scoring was more concerning. It turns out a pad lining had disappeared! 3 nice meaty pads, one with nothing left at all.

News seat - Part 2

As mentioned in Part One. The rails of the Alfa Momo seats are 14.5″ apart whilst the Triumph rails are 15″ apart. Couple that with the bolt holes not lining up, seat modification is needed.

Safety first - New seats

Its time to change the seats in the Triumph 2000. Its an issue I’m torn on, but safety first…I’ve started changing the seats on my 2000 today. This is one of those times when I am torn between originality and practicality. I am by no means one of those, “That’s not original, REMOVE IT NOW!” types but that being said, I’m also not one for needlessly changing parts of the car for no good reason.
